Exo 7

7:1 Then the LORD said to Moses, “See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet.

7:2 You are to say everything I command you, and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his country.

7:3 But I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and though I multiply my miraculous signs and wonders in Egypt,

7:4 he will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and with mighty acts of judgment I will bring out my divisions, my people the Israelites.

7:5 And the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD when I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring the Israelites out of it.”

7:6 Moses and Aaron did just as the LORD commanded them.

7:7 Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three when they spoke to Pharaoh.

7:8 The LORD said to Moses and Aaron,

7:9 “When Pharaoh says to you, ‘Perform a miracle,’ then say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh,’ and it will become a snake.”

7:10 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the LORD commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake.

7:11 Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian magicians also did the same things by their secret arts:

7:12 Each one threw down his staff and it became a snake. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs.

7:13 Yet Pharaoh’s heart became hard and he would not listen to them, just as the LORD had said.

7:14 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Pharaoh’s heart is unyielding; he refuses to let the people go.

7:15 Go to Pharaoh in the morning as he goes out to the water. Wait on the bank of the Nile to meet him, and take in your hand the staff that was changed into a snake.

7:16 Then say to him, ‘The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to say to you: Let my people go, so that they may worship me in the desert. But until now you have not listened.

7:17 This is what the LORD says: By this you will know that I am the LORD: With the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water of the Nile, and it will be changed into blood.

7:18 The fish in the Nile will die, and the river will stink; the Egyptians will not be able to drink its water.’”

7:19 The LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt–over the streams and canals, over the ponds and all the reservoirs’–and they will turn to blood. Blood will be everywhere in Egypt, even in the wooden buckets and stone jars.”

7:20 Moses and Aaron did just as the LORD had commanded. He raised his staff in the presence of Pharaoh and his officials and struck the water of the Nile, and all the water was changed into blood.

7:21 The fish in the Nile died, and the river smelled so bad that the Egyptians could not drink its water. Blood was everywhere in Egypt.

7:22 But the Egyptian magicians did the same things by their secret arts, and Pharaoh’s heart became hard; he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the LORD had said.

7:23 Instead, he turned and went into his palace, and did not take even this to heart.

7:24 And all the Egyptians dug along the Nile to get drinking water, because they could not drink the water of the river.

7:25 Seven days passed after the LORD struck the Nile.

7:1 And Jehovah said to Moses, See, I have made you God to Pharaoh; and Aaron your brother will be your prophet.

7:2 You shall speak all that I command you, and Aaron your brother shall speak to Pharaoh, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.

7:3 And I will harden Pharaoh s heart and will multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt.

7:4 But Pharaoh will not listen to you, and I will lay My hand upon Egypt and bring forth My armies, My people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great acts of judgment.

7:5 And the Egyptians will know that I am Jehovah, when I stretch forth My hand upon Egypt and bring out the children of Israel from among them.

7:6 And Moses and Aaron did so; as Jehovah commanded them, so did they do.

7:7 And Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three years old when they spoke to Pharaoh.

7:8 And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

7:9 When Pharaoh speaks to you, saying, Perform a wonder; then you shall say to Aaron, Take your staff, and throw it down before Pharaoh, so that it becomes a serpent.

7:10 And Moses and Aaron came to Pharaoh, and they did just as Jehovah had commanded; and Aaron threw down his staff before Pharaoh and before his servants, and it became a serpent.

7:11 Then Pharaoh also called for the wise men and the sorcerers. And they also, the magicians of Egypt, did the same with their secret spells;

7:12 That is, each one threw down his staff, and they became serpents. But Aaron s staff swallowed up their staffs.

7:13 And Pharaoh s heart hardened, and he did not listen to them, just as Jehovah had said.

7:14 Then Jehovah said to Moses, Pharaoh s heart is stubborn; he refuses to let the people go.

7:15 Go to Pharaoh in the morning as he is going out to the water, and stand on the bank of the River to meet him. And you shall take in your hand the staff which was turned into a serpent.

7:16 And you shall say to him, Jehovah, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to you, saying, Let My people go that they may serve Me in the wilderness. But until this very moment you have not listened.

7:17 Thus says Jehovah, By this you will know that I am Jehovah. I am now going to strike the water which is in the River with the staff that is in my hand, and it will be turned to blood.

7:18 And the fish that are in the River will die, and the River will become foul, and the Egyptians will loathe drinking water from the River.

7:19 And Jehovah said to Moses, Say to Aaron, Take your staff, and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt, over their rivers, over their watercourses, and over their pools, and over all their reservoirs of water, that they may become blood; and there shall be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, even in vessels of wood and in vessels of stone.

7:20 And Moses and Aaron did just as Jehovah commanded; and he lifted up the staff and struck the water that was in the River in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants, and all the water that was in the River was turned to blood.

7:21 And the fish that were in the River died, and the River became foul, and the Egyptians could not drink water from the River; and the blood was throughout all the land of Egypt.

7:22 And the magicians of Egypt did the same with their secret spells; and Pharaoh s heart hardened, and he did not listen to them, just as Jehovah had said.

7:23 And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, and he did not take even this to heart.

7:24 And all the Egyptians dug around the River for water to drink, for they could not drink of the water of the River.

7:25 And seven days passed after Jehovah had struck the River.
