16:1 When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body.
16:2 Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb
16:3 and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”
16:4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away.
16:5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.
16:6 “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.
16:7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’”
16:8 Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.
16:9 The most reliable early manuscripts and other ancient witnesses do not have Mark 16:9-20 When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons.
16:10 She went and told those who had been with him and who were mourning and weeping.
16:11 When they heard that Jesus was alive and that she had seen him, they did not believe it.
16:12 Afterward Jesus appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking in the country.
16:13 These returned and reported it to the rest; but they did not believe them either.
16:14 Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.
16:15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.
16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
16:17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
16:18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”
16:19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.
16:20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.
16:1 And when the Sabbath was past, Mary the Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might come and anoint Him.
16:2 And very early on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb as the sun rose.
16:3 And they said to one another, Who will roll away the stone for us from the door of the tomb?
16:4 And when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away, for it was extremely large.
16:5 And when they entered into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right, clothed in a white robe, and they were alarmed.
16:6 And he said to them, Do not be alarmed. You are seeking Jesus the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He has been raised; He is not here. Behold the place where they laid Him.
16:7 But go, tell His disciples and Peter that He is going before you into Galilee. There you will see Him, even as He told you.
16:8 And they went out and fled from the tomb, for trembling and astonishment had seized them. And they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.
16:9 Now after He had risen early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary the Magdalene, from whom He had cast out seven demons.
16:10 She went and reported to those who had been with Him, who were mourning and weeping.
16:11 And when they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe.
16:12 And after these things, He appeared in a different form to two of them as they were walking on their way into the countryside.
16:13 And they went away and reported to the rest, but they did not believe them either.
16:14 And afterward He appeared to the eleven as they were reclining at table, and He reproached their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen.
16:15 And He said to them, Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to all the creation.
16:16 He who believes and is baptized shall be saved, but he who does not believe shall be condemned.
16:17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;
16:18 They will pick up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it shall by no means harm them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will be well.
16:19 So then the Lord Jesus, after speaking to them, was taken up into heaven and sat at the right hand of God.
16:20 And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word by the accompanying signs.
