Ps 94

94:1 O LORD, the God who avenges, O God who avenges, shine forth.

94:2 Rise up, O Judge of the earth; pay back to the proud what they deserve.

94:3 How long will the wicked, O LORD, how long will the wicked be jubilant?

94:4 They pour out arrogant words; all the evildoers are full of boasting.

94:5 They crush your people, O LORD; they oppress your inheritance.

94:6 They slay the widow and the alien; they murder the fatherless.

94:7 They say, “The LORD does not see; the God of Jacob pays no heed.”

94:8 Take heed, you senseless ones among the people; you fools, when will you become wise?

94:9 Does he who implanted the ear not hear? Does he who formed the eye not see?

94:10 Does he who disciplines nations not punish? Does he who teaches man lack knowledge?

94:11 The LORD knows the thoughts of man; he knows that they are futile.

94:12 Blessed is the man you discipline, O LORD, the man you teach from your law;

94:13 you grant him relief from days of trouble, till a pit is dug for the wicked.

94:14 For the LORD will not reject his people; he will never forsake his inheritance.

94:15 Judgment will again be founded on righteousness, and all the upright in heart will follow it.

94:16 Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will take a stand for me against evildoers?

94:17 Unless the LORD had given me help, I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death.

94:18 When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your love, O LORD, supported me.

94:19 When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.

94:20 Can a corrupt throne be allied with you–one that brings on misery by its decrees?

94:21 They band together against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death.

94:22 But the LORD has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge.

94:23 He will repay them for their sins and destroy them for their wickedness; the LORD our God will destroy them.

94:1 O God of vengeance, O Jehovah, / O God of vengeance, shine forth!

94:2 Lift Yourself up, O Judge of the earth; / Render the reward upon the proud.

94:3 How long, O Jehovah, will the wicked, / How long will the wicked exult?

94:4 They burst out; they speak arrogantly; / All the workers of iniquity boast.

94:5 They crush Your people, O Jehovah, / And afflict Your inheritance.

94:6 They slay the widow and the stranger, / And they murder orphans.

94:7 And they say, Jehovah does not see, / And the God of Jacob does not consider.

94:8 Consider, you senseless ones among the people; / And you foolish ones, when will you become wise?

94:9 He who planted the ear, does He not hear? / And He who formed the eye, does He not see?

94:10 He who disciplines the nations, / He who teaches man knowledge, does He not reprove?

94:11 Jehovah knows the thoughts of man, / That they are vanity.

94:12 Blessed is the man / Whom You discipline, O Jehovah, / And teach out of Your law;

94:13 That You may give him rest from the days of evil / Until the pit is dug for the wicked.

94:14 For Jehovah will not abandon His people, / Nor will He forsake His inheritance.

94:15 For judgment will return unto righteousness, / And all the upright in heart will follow it.

94:16 Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? / Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?

94:17 Unless Jehovah had been my help, / My soul would have soon dwelt in silence.

94:18 When I said, My foot has slipped, / Your lovingkindness, O Jehovah, upheld me.

94:19 When my disquieting thoughts within me are many, / Your comfortings delight my soul.

94:20 Shall the seat of destruction be united with You, / Which devises trouble through its statutes?

94:21 They band together against the soul of the righteous man / And condemn innocent blood.

94:22 But Jehovah has been my high tower, / And my God the rock of my refuge;

94:23 And He will return their iniquity upon them / And destroy them in their own evil; / Jehovah our God will destroy them.
